Thought of the Day

25-26 June 2024

Jesus’s resurrection is the beginning of God’s new project not to snatch people away from earth to heaven but to colonize earth with the life of heaven. That, after all, is what the Lord’s Prayer is about.

  1. We act accordingly when transformation took place, after we prayed to have our shortcomings removed, when we are made ready. Bible tells us what to ask for. We are not forced.
I was wondering if at that time, Bible was seen as a series of rigid rules or if Kierkegaard exhorts the Christians to be true to themselves.
Maybe I missed the point of this quote but it reminds me of the “electrochoc” sentences that Jesus used with the Pharisees.
Anyway I need to face this Kierkegaard challenging “provocation” and I so needed to hear it yesterday.
    Thanks a lot Lori.

    1. Yes, there is a lot of provocation here from Kierkegaard and I agree, it does remind me of how Jesus used similar tactics
